Energy and stillness—we desire both along with a balance of the two. The basic law of energy—that energy can neither be created nor destroyed and can only be transformed from one form to another—inspires wonder and questions. How are we connected to other forms of energy? Where does the energy of the soul go after death? Can we change our own energy in life? Where does creative energy come from? These are age-old questions without clear answers. After finishing a painting, I often ask myself, “Where did that come from?” And still I don’t know.
